There, I’ve admitted it. It feels so much better to get it out in the open.
What sort of deviant I hear you shout….. well, it’s actually nothing bad, or sinister, or pervy….. so sorry about that.
I have joined deviantART. If you have never been to the site and you are interested in all things art then you need to come out of your cave and check out the amazing work being done by people on that site. There is everything there; cartoons, manga, photography, digital art, traditional art, poetry plus loads more and there is some truly amazing work. As I type this, there are currently 34,387,868 pieces of art, or deviations, on the site, and the number is increasing every second. In fact, in the time it’s taken me to type this sentence, another 60 deviations have been uploaded. What other site can boast that amount of user contributions.
As I use Flickr to share my photography, I’m going to try and keep my deviantART account for just my good stuff. Work I’d use for a portfolio. That way I can try and move towards a more commercial (as in selling prints etc) slant to my photography at deviantART while still experimenting and sharing using Flickr.
The only downside to this is that it’s another site that I’ll be spending hours on just browsing through other people’s work for inspiration and enjoyment.
By the way, there’s now 34,388,269 deviations!
